Top to bottom: Dreamscape 18"x12" acrylic ink and watercolor on watercolor paper. Next four- assorted dreamscapes all approximately 10"x5.5" acrylic ink and watercolor on watercolor paper. Bottom- acrylic ink treescape on assembled wood panels approximately 8"x2"

cartoon paintings for a toy themed show

This is for an upcoming show in Austin called Toy Joy. It is inspired by the funky toy store downtown for adults and children. I thought the topo kitties from my animations would fit in well. (see One in upper left hand of blog--that is for all ages & in the more adult Four they are still rather innocent bystanders) I also submitted some other cartoon paintings based on these trios, but I think I will tweak them a little bit more.

reworking and repairing

I went back in and radically reworked two previous drawings that nagged at me. I regret not scanning them before so you could see a before/after.

 

and here is also an earlier one I never photographed. I just retouched the distressed style frame (found thrift store item that I painted on) that was maybe a little too distressed.
