mini landscape/treescape from direct observation
Here is one of the mini paintings I did outside an a park in San Antonio between other responsibilities (have a short term working gig). I had brought my acrylic inks for portable decorative/dreamscape stuff to do on the fly (can't bring oils&sovents to my job), but for mini work from life it turned out pretty well. Usually I save oils for this sort of thing, but I'm excited the portable inks worked well for direct observation. I have more I'm finishing up. 4"x4" acrylic ink and ink pencil on wood panel

2/27/12 treescape/dreamscapes in progress (on location)
Been at my sister's in Arlington VA this week, apartment hunting. Here are some of what I've been working on as time allows. I can't bring oils on the plane and get into the hardcore stuff...more of the decorative/dreamscape work which was what I was doing this fall with acrylic ink and paint. These are on wood and canvas, anywhere from 1" to 4" panels.
I'll leave at least one or two with my sister for treating my stay while we hammer out our future roommate arrangement this summer. ( I plan to work on more large scale work from life and get in touch with more galleries for a year and a half, then deside if I will return to Austin or look into other places and opportunties). I'm getting ideas of how I would like to link some of the presentation ideas of the small decorative pieces with work from life though on a larger scale. I need to finish these up. I'm looking forward to getting home to finish some oil paintings too.

catching up
This is part of a bigger glut I'm uploading of the decorative/dreamscape work. Some are still being tweaked and assembled. about 7"wide x a little under 3inches tall. acrylic ink on wood.
acrylic ink on canvas 5"x7"
This may look familiar. I had a bookend opposite painting I had painted with a matching frame. This one was tweaked for a trade for cat sitting while I was going to the east coast. The frame is 13"wx11" and the inside painting is a 7"x5" canvas
More entries will be coming tomorrow, and likely daily too until at least the new year. Been working on various painting projects but I have been juggling family matters that need to be attended to.

note: etsy has not been a viable site for me. I'll keep you posted on other opportunities to sell. As of the moment I'm trying ebay with a small grouping: look for the seller artbyjeannehospod2012.

Perfect Day to Chase Tornadoes.
"....And sometimes I’m glad I built my mansion from crazy little stones.
But sometimes I feel so goddamned trapped by everything that I know.
And I wish it wasn’t so, cause the only thing that anyone should ever know
is that today’s a perfect day
to chase tornadoes.
Yeah, when the wild wind whips around your head you know,
that you have found a perfect day to chase tornadoes. "

Trio
I gave this trio to my mom a little over two weeks ago for her bedside (with little easels), which now belongs to my sister. She's getting a little collection going of my past and present stuff. The middle piece is my sister's insane former feral maine coon, (my sister calls her Pukov aka Pookie , aka Spookie--my variation which I think she said is Bulgarian for "fluffy" --correct me if I got it wrong, Jan) now pampered quirky highly playful princess who kept me & mom entertained. The green and blue canvases are about 3" square, the bronze colored one is 2" square. Acrylic and acrylic ink on miniature canvas.
