another tree study
I kept the background unpainted since there is some tone. I wanted to show the texture of the homemade paper (which I decoupaged onto the canvas.) One foot square. Waterproof ink.
The color and texture of the homemade paper looks a bit like a soft summer evening sky. The trees are awesome! Reminds me a bit of those Japanese ink drawings...
Thanks! The more I do these the more I think I should learn the art of calligraphy to help practice create the most graceful yet efficient lines. The old Japanese ink drawings were of course a big influence on Van Gogh, who is a favorite of mine.
